Former Seychelles number one tennis player Benedict Ethève is back in the country conducting training sessions for a group of competitive junior players of the Seychelles Tennis Association.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) coach leaving in Canada and known affectionately as ‘Benny Miyagi’, Ethève has nearly three decades of top-tier certification, including Level 3 certification by Tennis Canada (since 2000) and ITF Level 2 (since 1996). His impressive resume includes serving as a touring coach with ITF, Tennis Canada, and the Ontario Tennis Association. He’s a master in technical foundations, advanced biomechanics, tactics, physical intelligence, mobility, and court coverage.
But what truly sets coach Ethève apart is his incredible ability to connect with students – igniting passion, unlocking potential, and inspiring rapid growth. Many of his students have secured National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 scholarships in the United States of America, while others thrive in their personal and professional lives thanks to his mentoring.
