Various cultures and styles on display
A group of dancers and choreographers from Seychelles, the Russian Federation, Cuba, Mauritius and the Island of Rodrigues are participating in this year’s 11th Biennale des Danses organised by the Conservatoire of Performing Arts of the National Arts and Craft Council.
The official launching of the ten-day contemporary dance workshop under the theme ‘Moving Worlds; Dance as Dialogue’ was held on Monday morning at the National Theatre, Mont Fleuri. It was the chief executive of the National Arts and Craft Council (NACC), Jimmy Savy, who had the honour of launching the event in the presence of the Cuban ambassador to Seychelles, Martha Hernandez, and the Minister Counsellor, Tomas Mendez; the chargé d’affaires of the Russian Federation to Seychelles, Alexander Odoevskiy; the director of the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts, Pierre Joseph; the dance participants; sponsors and other NACC senior staff members.
