Message from the Chief Secretary on the occasion of Public Service Day
‘Let us build an inclusive, accountable public service that delivers results and puts Seychelles first’
“On this United Nations Public Service Day, I salute all public officers across our nation for your commitment, professionalism, and dedicated service to the people of Seychelles.
“This year’s global theme, ‘Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future’, reminds us of the urgent responsibility we carry — not just to perform, but to transform. We stand at a defining point in our development journey. The decisions we make, the standards we uphold, and the reforms we champion today will shape the strength and sustainability of our institutions tomorrow.
“As Chief Secretary, I have witnessed first-hand the resilience and dedication so many of you bring to your roles — from the frontlines of service delivery to the corridors of policy and planning. I am proud of the strides we are making together to modernise, digitalise, and humanise our services. But we must go further.
We must be bold in tackling inefficiencies, streamlining internal processes, and aligning our efforts with the evolving needs of our citizens. Let this occasion be a moment for reflection — and a renewed commitment to building a service culture that is efficient, ethical, and impact-driven.
“Accelerating service delivery begins with bold leadership at every level. Let us build an inclusive, accountable public service that delivers results and puts Seychelles first. Above all, let us never lose sight of our purpose: to serve — with humility, integrity, and a deep commitment to the public good.
“On behalf of the Office of the Chief Secretary, I thank you for your continued dedication and wish you all a reflective and meaningful Public Service Day.”
