Nars honours retired nurses

In a heartfelt ceremony held on Saturday afternoon, the Nurses Association of the Republic Seychelles gathered at the Espace building to honour retired nurses for their unwavering devotion and lifelong dedication to the nursing profession. The event was also in celebration of International Nurses Day, observed annually on May 12,
The event was attended by former healthcare professionals, community leaders, members of the Nurses Association of the Republic Seychelles (Nars), serving as a tribute to those who have spent decades in service, caring for the sick and supporting the health system. It was an atmosphere filled with gratitude, stories, and shared memories.
In her opening remarks President of Nars, Rhonda Burka, paid tribute to the former nurses, recognising their contribution to Seychelles’ population. “It is them who have directed the path for the new generations,” she said, adding the celebration was also a moment to reflect on the impact their work has done in the health system and their community.
