‘Thank you everyone for answering the call’
- Paradise Boys and volunteers honoured
The success of Seychelles in hosting the best ever Fédération Internationale de Football Association Beach Soccer World Cup, which took place at the newly built Roche Caïman Paradise Arena between May 1-11, was a combined effort, and not just the work of a few.
President Wavel Ramkalawan, who is also the patron of Seychelles’ football, made the comment on Saturday, during a ceremony held at State House to recognise the efforts of the volunteers who played an active role in ensuring the smooth running of the event, and also to reward the Paradise Boys for their good performance at the tournament.
Vice-President Ahmed Afif, Principal Minister Jean-François Ferrari, Cabinet Ministers, chief of the Defence Forces Major General Michael Rosette were among those present at the event which brought together over 500 volunteers and personnel involved in running the World Cup.
