Basketball: National Leagues Round Two: Confusing format as second round begins
- Play-off series to decide winners
After a long wait, the basketball national league finally resumed yesterday, with this season’s champions to be decided through a play-off series which will feature only the top six teams, based on the results of the first-round league.
As for the bottom clubs, based on the result of the round of the league, they will engage in best-of-three league between the three of them to determine the bottom-of-the-table ranking.
As confusing as it looks, the second-round fixtures will feature two groups – Even Cup and Odd Cup – with each featuring three teams who will battle in a best-of-three round robin league.
The Even Cup group is made up of Beau Vallon Heat, Drifters and Baya, while the Odd Cup group features PLS Hawks, Mont Fleuri Dawgz and Praslin Boys.
