“Al Seychellois workers,

“On this Labour Day, we reflect not only on our achievements but also on the grave injustices that have marred our workplaces this past year. We believe that social justice, a foundational principle of our party, is the bedrock of decent work, ensuring fair treatment, equal opportunities, and respect for the rights of every worker.

“In April, we witnessed the unacceptable deportation of a journalist, followed by the silencing of the Seychelles News Agency in December 2024, and a disturbing erosion of press freedom through intimidation, censorship, and restrictions on access to information. These acts are a direct assault on our democratic values.
