Local judokas fail to pass preliminaries

There is still a long way to go for Seychelles’ judo in terms of leaving its mark at continental level, based on the results of the recently-held 2025 African Judo Championships between April 25-27 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The competition featured individual events across seven weight categories for both men and women, culminating in a mixed team event on the final day.
A total of 24 nations took part, while 216 judokas competing, with Moroccan judoka Soumiya Iraoui securing her fifth continental title during the championships.
