Giving second chances: How Seychelles' prison work programme is changing lives |26 April 2025

Since 2019, more than 450 inmates in Seychelles have taken part in a unique programme that is transforming lives both inside and outside the prison walls.

The Phoenix Resettlement Day Release Programme, led by the Seychelles Prison Services is helping inmates rehabilitate through structured employment, while offering real benefits to the local community.

Rehabilitation that works

“The Phoenix Resettlement Day Release Programme offers structured employment opportunities for inmates, focusing on their rehabilitation while simultaneously benefiting the local community,” said the Seychelles Prison Services (SPS).
