Source of water damage identified
It was a burst water pipe that runs underneath the football pitch and the athletics tracks of Stad Linite that has caused serious damages to part of the tracks, the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency has announced.
Despite not being sure of the definite cause of the burst, which can include age and weathering, corrosion, or high water pressure, it can be confirmed that the pipe has been operational for quite a while, very likely since the construction of the facility.
Chief executive of the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency (SIA) Jitesh Shaw explained that recently they noticed a water bulge under part of the track where excavation work was needed to identify the water source.
