Autism Spectrum Disorder or autism as it is commonly known, is a lifelong, complex developmental disorder that usually presents in early childhood and affects how a person communicates, learns, behaves and interacts with others around them and their environment. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is not an illness but rather a neurological disability whereby the person’s brain works differently from neurotypical individuals.
