Swallows of Burundi add to Seychelles’ misery
Still in search of their first point in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association World Cup Africa qualifiers, Seychelles, under the guidance of coach Ralph Jean-Louis, on Tuesday suffered another massive blow through 0-5 defeat against Burundi.
The defeat is Seychelles’ sixth in as many matches played, and second at the hands of the Swallows who defeated our boys 3-1 in the first-round match in June last year.
In Tuesday’s match at the Stade d'Honneur de Meknès in Morocco, Burundi displayed clear superiority early on and in the 22nd minute, Christophe Nduwarugira opened the scoring, quickly followed by a brace from Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana in the 24th and 31st minutes, ending the first half 3-0 in favour of Burundi.
