Au Cap Sisters reach playoff despite losing last group match
Local female selection Au Cap Sisters have qualified for tomorrow’s third place playoff or ‘petite finale’ as it is more commonly known despite concluded the first phase of the ongoing Handball Indian Ocean Club Championship (IOCC) in Mauritius with a defeat.
Au Cap Sisters lost the match 28-36 at the hands of Tamponaise HBF of Reunion yesterday, a result which guarantees them fourth place overall.
After four matches played, Au Cap Sisters have recorded a single victory and three losses.
They are on six points, having scored 78 goals and conceding 99.
Also in action yesterday were Durantha Brothers who lost their match 18-32 against HBC St Pierre of Reunion.
The result keeps them fourth overall in group A on six points, after a single win and three defeats in four matches.
They have scored 87 goals and conceded 129.
Seychelles’ other representatives at the tournament are AC Brothers who were in action twice yesterday.
In their first match, AC Brothers lost 28-36 to USS of the Comoros, while in their second match yesterday they lost 28-36 to AS Chateau Morange.
