South West Indian Ocean countries meet in Seychelles to prepare for upcoming IOTC meeting |21 March 2025

Senior officials from the South West Indian Ocean Collaboration are currently gathering in Seychelles to prepare for the upcoming Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) meeting, set to take place from April 13 to 17, 2025, in La Reunion.
One of the key topics at the meeting is the recent stock assessment of yellowfin tuna. The discussions aim to help coastal states align on a common strategy for preserving tuna fisheries and ensuring the health of ocean resources, which are vital to the region’s economy.
