Seychelles sees slight deflation in February 2025 CPI |12 March 2025
The National Bureau of Statistics released its latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) bulletin revealing a year-on-year inflation rate of -0.09% for February 2025, a notable drop from January’s 0.97%.
This shift into slight deflation reflects a mixed bag of price movements across key categories, with declines in fish and non-food items outweighing gains in other food prices.
The “All Items” CPI for February 2025 stood at 126.83; down marginally from 126.95 in February 2024, signaling a subtle easing of overall price pressures. Month-on-month, the index fell by 0.28%, a steeper decline than January’s 0.16% drop.
