Press conference regarding closure of Roche Caïman sports complex

Safety first, says NSC boss

 

Safety is a top priority as construction works continue at the Roche Caïman sports complex to build the main stadium to host the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup from May 1-11.

After the National Sports Council (NSC) took the decision to restrict access to the sports complex to athletes and members of the public as a way of safety since extremely heavy sections of the stadium will be transported inside the complex, some individuals have found it difficult to accept the decision.

In the face of these numerous concerns, the NSC hosted a press conference at its conference room late yesterday afternoon. NSC chief executive Marc Arissol, Seychelles Infrastructure Agency chief operations officer Keith Arnephy and assistant police commissioner Antoine Desnousse all explained why such a decision has been taken.
