Ensuring conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity
In its move to review the draft biodiversity target and proposed priority policy measures and actions, the Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hosted a validation workshop on National Biodiversity Targets yesterday morning at the Savoy Seychelles Resort and Spa, Beau Vallon.
Present were Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment Flavien Joubert and principal secretary for Environment Denis Matatiken.
Seychelles, as a party to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), is committed to protecting biodiversity and working towards global sustainability goals, while the country is aligning its efforts with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), which sets international targets to halt biodiversity loss.
