Robin Johnston joins race for presidency

 Robin Johnston is the third Seychellois – after Ralph Volcère and Alain St Ange – to officially announce his independent candidacy for President in the upcoming election, scheduled for September 2025.

When announcing his candidacy yesterday at the Chilli Bar restaurant, La Louise, Mr Johnston, who has spent most of his time in Japan, said his running mate will be Bernard De Lafontaine, who he will introduce on another occasion.

They will be running for the highest office in the land under the theme ‘Let’s Make Seychelles Unique Again’.

Mr Johnston, a chef by profession, said he decided to run as an independent presidential candidate because the current government has failed and is continuing to fail the people, many of whom are suffering.

He said he is the one who will remove the country from the current state of degradation, adding that he wants to bring in new ideas and visions which together with the people will restore the country, making it unique again.
