Seychelles takes over the helm from Kenya

Since yesterday, Seychelles has taken over the helm of the Contact Group on Illicit Maritime Activities (CGIMA) from Kenya which had been chairing the group for the past four years.

The official handover, held at the Eden Bleu Hotel, was attended by Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette; Chief Justice Rony Govinden; Commander of the Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohamed Shemote; members of the diplomatic corps (actively involved in maintaining maritime security), among other guests.
