AC Brothers (In green) lost their first match to Combani HBC

A win and a loss for Durantha Brothers and Au Cap Sisters

 

Durantha Brothers and Au Cap Sisters have a win and a loss to their names at the ongoing Indian Ocean Club Championship (IOCC) for handball in Mauritius.

Durantha Brothers started the tournament on the right foot with a 34-25 victory over Grand La Fourche Corail Rodrigues of Rodrigues in their inaugural match on Saturday at the Phoenix Gymnasium, in Vacoas.

Representing the country as last season’s league champions, Durantha Brothers have been drawn in group A alongside CSSC (Mauritius), ASC Tsingoni (Mayotte), Saint Pierre (Reunion) and Grand La Fourche Corail (Rodrigues).

In their second match yesterday, they lost 13-33 to ASC Tsingoni of Mayotte.

In the women’s competition being contested on a league basis, Au Cap Sisters started the competition on a bad note, losing to Combani HBC of Mayotte. The final score was 16-22.

Yesterday, they won their second match by forfeit against Amateur of the Comoros. According to reports, the team from the Comoros are yet to arrive in Mauritius.

The other Seychelles’ men’s team at the tournament are AC Brothers and they are in group B, together with USS (The Comoros), ASVP (Mauritius), Combani HBC (Mayotte) and Chateau Morange (Reunion).
