Heavy rain causes flooding and landslides in South-East Mahé |23 January 2025

Authorities remain vigilant

 The Southern and Eastern parts of Mahé were the most affected by Tuesday’s torrential rain, which started late afternoon and persisted throughout the night, leading to landslides and flooding.

The Seychelles Meteorological Authority had issued a yellow alert, warning of moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and strong winds across Mahé and other islands.
