Seychelles joins the world to  celebrate the festival of lights

People of different nationalities and religious beliefs gathered at the National Sports Council hall on Saturday evening to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.

Also called Deepavali, Diwali is one of the most important festivals in India and is celebrated by millions of people worldwide, especially Hindus. It symbolises the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It also marks the beginning of a new year on the Hindu calendar.
