Seychelles’ poet at 12th Guadeloupe POÉSIE Festival  |19 February 2024

Dr André Bernard Valentin will be representing Seychelles at the 12th Guadeloupe POÉSIE Festival which will be held from March 1-10, 2024 in Guadeloupe.

The festival is being organised by the ALIAGE Association in partnership with the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage, and the Arts (Snicha), the Creative Seychelles Agency (CSA) as well as other International partners.

Dr Valentin will be competing with his poem entitled 'Le jour viendra'.
Although he chose a career in medicine and is a doctor by profession, Dr Valentin has been interested in and been writing poetry from a very young age.

He also writes play scripts and novels, of which three has been published by the former 'Seychelles Creole Institute', now named the Seychelles Creole Academy. He was also twice laureate of the literature competition 'Antoine Abel'.
