Former boxer Craig Bamboche passes away
Sports NATION has learned the passing away of former boxer Craig Bamboche which according to a police report happened in the early hours of yesterday at the ex-Albert Flat, Anse François, Pointe Larue.
According to the police report, Bamboche died from severe head injuries after falling down from the fourth-floor balcony.
Bamboche started boxing from an early age when he featured in the country’s line-up for the Regatta international boxing tournament in October 2016 which featured pugilists from Rodrigues.
He was also part of the national selection as the 56kg contender at the 10th Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG) in Mauritius between July 19-28, 2019, alongside Alexson Prudence (60kg), Andrique Allisop (64kg), Shain Boniface (69kg), Edrian Volcère (75kg), Jovet Jean (81kg), Nelson Molle, (91kg), and Keddy Agnes (+91kg).
Sports NATION expresses its sincere condolences to Bamboche’s family members and friends, as well as the local boxing community.
