13th African Games – Accra, Ghana from March 8-23, 2024 |16 February 2024

Four track and field athletes on Mauritius training camp

 

Four local track and field athletes are presently on training camp in neighbouring Mauritius as part of the preparations for 13th African Games, scheduled to take place in Ghana between March 8-23, 2024, Sports NATION has learned.

The four athletes – Don Wirtz, Neil Azemia, Caleb Vadivello, and Denzel Adam – are being accompanied by coaches Giovanni Fanny and Joseph Volcy.

Other than training, the athletes will also compete at the Mauritius African Games Trial which will take place today.

Vadivello and Azemia will be in Mauritius until February 28, while Wirtz and Adam will be back in the country on March 4.

For the 13th Games, it is the 11,000 capacity University of Ghana (UG) Stadium that will host the track and field events.

It will have both VVIP and VIP sections, a car park, offices, and a 30-bed hostel accommodation.
