New PB for Simon Bachmann in 200m butterfly
Male swimmer of the year 2023 Simon Bachmann yesterday improved his personal best time in 200m butterfly at the ongoing World Aquatics Championships 2024 in Doha, Qatar.
Bachman, who competed in heat number two, clocked 2 minutes 03.31 seconds (2:03.31) to finish fourth overall, bettering his old time which was 2:03.57.
Bachmann will be in action again today, this time in the 200m individual medley.
Also in action today will be Aaliyah Palestrini who will be competing in heat number one of the 50m backstroke.
Seychelles’ other swimmers at the championships are Dorianne Bristol (open water - 5km), Damien Payet (open water - 5km), and Thierry Payet (open water - 5km), Angelina Smythe (100m backstroke and 100m freestyle) and Adam Moncherry (50m freestyle and 50m butterfly).
They are being accompanied by coach Robert Suzette.
