Top five senior male, female finalists known

• Young athletes’ list cut down to top three

The top five male and female finalists, along with the top three young athletes for the Sports Awards of the Year 2023 have been revealed.

For the senior male category, the race to the top prize will be between boxer Keddy Agnes, judokas Nantenaina Finesse and Dominic Dugasse, swimmer Simon Bachmann, and karateka Richard Ah-Weng.

As for the female top-five list, it includes swimmer Felicity Passon, volleyball players Angelique Adeline and Maya Biong, karateka Mastura Shah-Faure and track and field specialist Natasha Chetty.

In the young male athlete’s category, the battle for the top prize will be between karatekas Jishin Jins and Kyan Francourt, and windsurfer Jules Kandasamy.

The top three athletes in the young female category are swimmer Angelina Smythe, and badminton players Liana Bedier and Aurelie Jean-Louis.
