‘Hope for more good deeds in the world rather than evil ones’ – Stephanie Duval

Stephanie Duval

2023 was another active year for young philanthropist Stephanie Duval, with her continued engagement in communities, which she described as “an accomplishment”. The consultant aided Impact Sports Education Entertainment (ISEE) in its fundraising event to buy special beds for terminally ill patients, mainly those suffering with cancer. She also got involved with facilitating a workshop on ‘athletes safeguarding’ for local athletes, preparing for the ‘volet jeunesse’ of the Indian Ocean Island Games.

Last year also saw her representing Seychelles at international level with her participation at the AANOA (Association of National Olympic Academies of Africa) in Tunisia, where she delivered a presentation on the works of the NOAS (National Olympic Academy of Seychelles).

Last year Ms Duval was the catwalk coach for the ‘Lafoli Lanmod’ fashion show during the Creole Festival where she also got the opportunity to be a judge.

She also coached two first time beauty pageant contestants, who ended up in the top three of their respective pageants. “This was a great achievement for me as a pageant coach.”

Ms Duval’s journey into philanthropy started since her time at Mont Fleuri secondary school, and onto the Seychelles Institute of Technology, where after a three-year diploma course, she studied for an advanced diploma in telecommunications as well as a diploma in sports management. The young Seychellois presently works as a consultant, organising sports competitions and unique events to facilitating trainings.

Apart from being a freelance sports journalist, she also owns a beauty pageant academy where she trains aspiring beauty queens and models.

For 2024, Ms Duval has a simple hope: “To see more good deeds in the world rather than evil ones and to live in a peaceful world.”
