Visitor arrivals exceed 2022 records |28 December 2023
Seychelles has welcomed 332,886 visitors as of December 17, 2023, Tourism Seychelles announced yesterday.
Recent data from the Seychelles National Bureau of Statistics reveal that destination arrivals for the current year have surpassed the corresponding period in 2022, exceeding the previous year’s arrivals of 316,711 by an impressive 5%.
The destination has garnered significant attention from its top source markets, including Germany, France, Russia, the UK, and Italy. This diverse mix of international visitors underscores the widespread popularity and global recognition of Seychelles. Renowned for its turquoise waters and lush emerald rainforests, this island nation stands out as the sole collection of granitic islands on the planet.
Bernadette Willemin, director general for Destination Marketing, attributes this success to a combination of strategic marketing initiatives, collaboration with both local and international partners, and an unwavering commitment to providing a world-class experience for every visitor.
In her statement, Mrs Willemin expressed, “It is good news for us to have exceeded the number of visitors received in 2022. Despite the current global challenges, we are grateful to remain one of the most popular destinations in the world. The Seychelles Islands boast distinctive features bound to enchant wanderers worldwide. As we celebrate this momentous achievement, we remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of hospitality and continue to invest in sustainable practices to preserve the natural beauty and cultural richness that make Seychelles an unparalleled experience.”
