Mr Herath presents a copy of the report to Speaker Mancienne

The Auditor General, Gamini Herath, has presented a copy of his annual report to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne.

Mr Herath remarked that this report is in line with the current existing mandate to assess if government expenditure and ongoing programmes meet current benchmarks for economic efficiency and capability.

Mr Herath stressed the vital role of sharing these reports with the National Assembly to enhance public knowledge and awareness, underscoring how such transparency significantly benefits the general public by informing them about government spending and general programme effectiveness.

Speaker Mancienne thanked Mr Herath for the continuous effort and tremendous work undertaken in ensuring that informative and transparent reports are available and looks forward to forthcoming reports from the Auditor General’s Office.
