CCCL expresses sympathy to victims of December 7 explosion   |11 December 2023

The management of the Civil Construction Company Limited (CCCL) has expressed its deepest sympathy to those who were injured and suffered damage to property and personal effects as a result of the incident that occurred in the early hours of December 7.

In a statement issued to Seychelles NATION on Saturday, the company stated that since the event, it had been “committed, engaged and cooperating fully with the police and all other relevant authorities while conforming to protocols and due process established in these instances.”

“CCCL is unable to comment further at this point during the course of the ongoing investigation to establish the facts and cause of the incident,” the statement added.

The company also thanked the emergency services, volunteers, its partners and the general public that offered support and assistance to all those affected including its staff, following the incident.

The blast shortly after 2am on Thursday, December 7, obliterated the company’s headquarters in Petit Paris, Cascade and destroyed nearby houses and buildings located in the Providence Industrial estate, forcing people to evacuate their premises. It also caused several injuries.
