Perseverance primary pupils surprise guests with their amazing work
World Science Day is a highly anticipated event at Perseverance North primary school, where the spirit of scientific inquiry is celebrated with enthusiasm and creativity.
This annual tradition has become a hallmark of the school's commitment to fostering a love for science among its pupils, and this year was no exception.
The students of Perseverance primary surprised everyone with their remarkable and innovative projects.
The head teacher, Bernadette Maria, spoke about the significance of World Science Day, and said that its primary objective was to provide pupils with a unique platform to showcase the knowledge, skills, and competencies they have acquired within and beyond the confines of the science classroom.
“The collaborative effort of pupils and their parents resulted in captivating displays that reflected their passion for science. We all live science every day!”
The invitation to participate is often extended to Perseverance families and staff too. Pupils then decide to participate either individually or as a family. Entries could be in the form of a model, an experiment, an invention or research.
Unlike traditional competitions that declare a single winner, Perseverance North primary school took a different approach. In the spirit of fostering a positive and collaborative environment, the school acknowledges that all participants are winners. This philosophy aligns with the school's commitment to nurturing a sense of achievement and self-worth in every pupil.
As participants, the pupils engaged in the World Science Day exhibition were all excited to present their projects. We could see in-depth presentations about the body, research on the amount of sugar soft drinks and juice contains, houses made out of carton boxes, water filter demonstration, volcano made with soft drink and mentos, a simulation of a well, paintings and other interesting stuff.
The annual event continues to be a highlight, fostering a love for science and a sense of community among pupils, staff, and families alike.
