CBS’ Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship for 2024 opens for applications |20 October 2023

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has announce the launch of the sixth edition of its Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship programme.

Application for the scholarship is now open until January 31, 2024.

Once again, two fully funded scholarships – one at Undergraduate level and one at Postgraduate level – are being offered to citizens of Seychelles.

The scholarship programme, initiated in 2018, targets exceptional individuals with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements, and interested in contributing to and making a meaningful impact in the local financial services sector.

New subjects are on offer this year, in line with CBS’ ongoing commitment to identify and assist in closing the skills gap in the sector. For Undergraduate studies, aside from Economics, Accounting, Finance, Law and Banking, aspiring candidates can also choose to study Computer Programming, Information Technology and Statistics. For Postgraduate level, Risk Management is the new eligible field of study on offer alongside Financial Technology, Cybersecurity, Financial Journalism, Financial Law, Taxation & Customs Management, Public Finance Management, Anti-Money Laundering & Compliance, Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics.

The outcome of the scholarship call will be announced by the end of February 2024. The successful applicants will be able to start their learning journey for the 2024 academic year at a university of their choice, opting to study on campus or through distance learning.

Further information about the scholarship, including eligible qualifications and application guidelines, can be found on the CBS website: https://www.cbs.sc/Scholarship.html.

Candidates may also contact CBS by phone on 4282142 or by email to cbsscholarships@cbs.sc.
