Seychelles-Turkey investment opportunities highlighted
The Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Devika Vidot, attended the Business and Economic Forum 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey from October 12 to 13, 2023.
In her intervention at the ministerial meeting, Minister Vidot highlighted the investment opportunities in Seychelles, improving trade relations and connectivity between the two countries.
During her visit, Minister Vidot met with Burak Dağlıoğlu, president of the Turkish investment office and Nail Olpak, chairman of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board, where she discussed the SDG Investor Map, exchange programmes for capacity building and the potentials for trade.
Minister Vidot also met with the Minister for Trade, Professor Ömer Bolat, where discussions centred around the free trade agreement, the Seychelles-Turkey Economic and Trade Cooperation Agreement as well as the positive impact the resumption of flights to Seychelles by Turkish Airlines will have on the country.
Additionally, Minister Vidot delivered a keynote address in the Türkiye-Africa women leadership dialogue where she emphasised the importance of having resources allocated to support women in businesses and leadership roles.
She also had the chance to meet with a delegation from the Seychelles business community who are also participating in the forum.
