14 medals for Northern Tang Soo Do Seychelles at Region 14 Championship
- Five gold, five silver and four bronze in the bag
Fourteen medals – five gold, five silver and four bronze – is the total medal harvest of the Northern Tang Soo Do team at the recently held World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA) Region 14 Championship held in Maputo, Mozambique.
Other than competitions, the championship also featured the regional dan and gup clinic with a special Hwarang Dan League clinic held for the first time ever in Africa.
The gold medals came courtesy of Jishin Jins (2), Mastura Shah-Faure (1), Kyan Francourt (1) and Tariq Shah-Faure (1).
As for the silver medals they were from Mastura Shah-Faure (1), Jishin (1), Francourt (1), Ashwin Ragupathy (1), and Alan Murzalin (1).
The four bronze medals were won by Ragupathy (1), Tahsin Shah-Faure (1), Hershall Belle (1), and Jonathan Volcère (1).
Jishin also won the Senior GUP Trophy, in the male category, while Tiny Tiger Amber Belle received a Special Tiny Tiger medal.
Beside the medals and trophies won, the small team of 11 also received two other recognition awards, firstly, Master James for his many years of outstanding dedication to the Art of Tang Soo Do, and the WTSDA, and secondly, a plaque of commendation made to BSBN Mastura Shah-Faure, for the enhancement of the honour of Tang Soo Do, and the development of the WTSDA.
According to BSBN Shah-Faure, she is proud of the small team for outstanding efforts, true team work and great display of the Tang Soo Do Spirit, adding that they could not have done any of it without the great support of all the parents throughout the journey.
BSBN Shah-Faure also extended her gratitude to everyone who helped and supported them in one way or another in making their participation possible.

1. Mastura Shah-Faure (47 years old): 3rd dan black belt, 1st in open hand hyung and 2nd in hyung with weapon.
2. Jishin Jins (14 years old): 4th GUP (brown belt), 1st in open hand hyung, 1st in hyung with weapon, 2nd in sparring.
3. Tariq Shah-Faure (16 years old): 4th GUP (brown belt), 1st in hyung with weapon.
4. Kyan Francourt (14 years old): 8th GUP (orange belt), 1st in open hand hyung and 2nd in sparring.
5. Ashwin Ragupathy (8 years old): 7th GUP (orange stripe), 2nd in open hand hyung and 3rd in team hyung.
6. Alan Murzalin (11 years old): 8th GUP (orange belt), 2nd in open hand hyung.
7. Tahsin Shah-Faure (10 years old): 7th GUP (orange Stripe), 3rd in team hyung.
8. Hershall Belle (9 years old): 7th GUP (orange Stripe), 3rd in team hyung.
9. Jonathan Volcère (11 years old): 9th GUP (white stripe), 3rd in sparring.
10. Amber Belle (14 years old): Tiny tiger
