Seychelles Auto Expo closes on a positive note

Last weekend saw yet another successful event to promote motor sports and safety in the country.

This was through the Seychelles Auto Expo which was held for two days where an array of vehicles, both sports cars and conventional ones, were on display.

The event was organised by M-Motorsport in collaboration with the Seychelles Motor Vehicle Dealers Association (SMVDA) with Alex Sally as the main event organiser. It also received support and sponsorship from local organisations such as the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC), office of the Mayor of Victoria, among others.

This much anticipated event which was held at the NSC Hall, Roche Caiman, attracted a large number of individuals, especially sports car lovers. It saw a display of brand new cars from local car dealers as well as a display of modified and sports cars. The car demonstrations that were held in the evening at the karting lot received much attractions and was one of the most appreciated events on the agenda. This part of the events had been legally approved by the authority.

Mr Sally claims that this activity was an opportune time to allow the sports car lovers to demonstrate their talents. Since the event was a way to encourage youths to showcase their skills, entertainment throughout was being provided by young dancers, singers and DJs.

Apart from a DJ competition which spread over the two days of activities, there was also an audio car competition, which also got a lot of attention.

The opening ceremony of the show was marked by a safety talk by an officer from the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA). The aim was to promote safety as it is one of the pivotal roles of the M Motorsport. The event was also a non-alcohol one in line with the M Motorsport’s motto.

On behalf of the organising team members, Mr Sally expressed his heartfelt appreciation towards the energy put into such a big event which was proved to be successful. He added that it is encouraging to see the youths being allowed the liberty to participate and enjoy something which they love.

“We need to reiterate that motorsport is not a bad sport but rather something that is being practised and approved in many countries across the globe. Moreover, it is practised with all the international safety requirements, and as you have seen in our events, safety was one of our main focus where we also had a stall promoting road safety. This is part of our mandate and as much as possible we will keep up with activities that will allow the youths to be more engaged.”

He also thanked the sponsors and participants.
