COSPN end Beau Vallon Heat’s BAL 2024 campaign
Local defending league and Land Marine Cup champions Beau Vallon will not travel further on the Road to BAL 2024 after losing their second group match 57-76 to Club Omnisport Police Nationale (COSPN) of Madagascar on Sunday at the Palais des Sports de Mahamasina in Antananarivo.
In their first match, Beau Vallon Heat beat Ushindzi Club de Ouani of the Comoros 82-60.
For the preliminaries, four clubs from the Indian Ocean region were scheduled to play in group E for a slot at the next stage of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), known as the Elite 16.
Only three out of the four clubs featured, after Roche-Bois Warriors of Mauritius withdrew their participation at the last minute.
With two victories in as many matches, COSPN finished as group E leaders and moved to the next stage of the competition.
