United Seychelles’ leader sends congratulatory message
On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the President of United Seychelles (US) party, Dr Patrick Herminie has sent a congratulatory message to the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and President of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr Xi Jinping.
“Seychelles and China share common values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 47 years ago, Seychelles and China have forged a traditional friendship, which is based on mutual trust,” says Dr Herminie.
The President of United Seychelles is thankful for China’s contribution towards the human development of Seychelles and for cooperation on the successful implementation of important projects such as the National Assembly building, Supreme Court, Anse Royale hospital, the national swimming pool and more. Chinese contractors have also participated in key infrastructure projects such as the La Gogue dam and the SBC’s Broadcasting House.
Dr Herminie also underlined the significant contribution of China towards our health system where more than 100 Chinese doctors have been providing service for the Seychellois since 1985.
In his message Dr Herminie also highlighted the fact that Chinese culture has integrated harmoniously into the multi-cultural society of Seychelles where people of Chinese descent are participating in the economic and cultural development of Seychelles.
The President of United Seychelles concluded his message by reaffirming his party’s support to the People’s Republic of China and called for a strengthening of the warm and close ties that exist between the two countries.
