Beau Vallon boys end Plaisance’s unbeaten run
The second series of the Seychelles Schools’ Premier League kicked off with a bang, with the Beau Vallon boys’ and girls’ teams causing the upsets of the round.
The Beau Vallon teams, wearing the colours of Chelsea, overcame all expectations last week when they outmatched two of the strongest teams in the league.
The Beau Vallon boys’ team went up against league leaders, Plaisance (Liverpool) and ended their unbeaten run with a 2-1 win.
Likewise, the Beau Vallon girls’ team overcame the resolve of AnseBoileau (West Ham), winning 1-0.
Another thrilling match was the Mont Fleuri boys (Tottenham) against Perseverance (Arsenal).
Unlike the north London derby 2-2 draw on Sunday, Perseverance came out victorious with a 2- 1 win.
The Pointe Larue (Everton) girls’ team made a solid start to the second round, dominating the astro-turf field with an astounding 22-0 winover Independent School (Manchester United).
The Anse Royale boys’ team, wearing the colours of Leicester, suffered in their match against Belonie(Manchester City), and although they clawed back a goal, they could not slow the Belonie attack, losing 1-5.
Also fighting for a win last week were the French School boys’ team (Nottingham Forest), but they were unable to get past AnseBoileau’s impenetrable defence, with the match ending 3-0 in AnseBoileau’s favour.
The week ended with a landslide victory by the Perseverance girls’ team, ending in a 14-0 victory over English River.
