Police bid farewell to Sergeant Yunas Victor

The Seychelles Police Force yesterday bid farewell to their colleague and friend, Sergeant Yunas Victor, who passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.

His funeral service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was attended by Vice- President Ahmed Afif, high-ranking police officers and colleagues, families and friends.

According to the police, Mr Victor joined the force on June 1, 1990 as a Constable and started his career at the Police Mobile Unit (PMU), before being transferred to other units including ADAMS, Special Support Unit (SSU), Regular police, Marine police and the Public Order and Tactical Response Unit (POTRU).

His last attachment was at the Anse Aux Pins station. His career with the force spanned 33 years.

News of his passing was announced in a communique issued last Friday by the Commissioner of Police, Ted Barbe, members of the executive board and the force, who expressed their sympathy to Sergeant Victor’s family.

They stated that he would be deeply missed by all officers, especially his close friends.
