“We need to cater for the different learning styles and paces while embracing technology for online and blended learning” |15 September 2023

“We need to cater for the different learning styles and paces while embracing technology for online and blended learning”

“The educational landscape has been evolving rapidly with advances in technology, online learning platforms and changing pedagogical approaches. This transformation has led to increased accessibility to personalised learning and the integration of digital tools in education.

“The future of education in Seychelles will need to embrace these changes to meet the diverse needs of learners. We need to cater for the different learning styles and paces while embracing technology for online and blended learning.

Encouraging collaborative learning and the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills are crucial in the new landscape. The shift of the ministry towards focusing on practical skills and competencies that prepare students for the workforce and ensuring equitable access to education for all should remain a top priority.

“I support the call for more holistic and authentic assessment methods that measure a broader range of skills and abilities. Taking the above into consideration will help create an educational system that is more inclusive, adaptable, inclusive and responsive to the demands of the 21st Century.”
