US ambassador calls on National Assembly’s defence and security committee |06 September 2023
The United States Ambassador to Seychelles, Henry Jardine last Friday paid a courtesy call on the chairperson of the National Assembly’s defence and security committee, Hon. Clifford Andre.
Mr Jardine was accompanied by the chargé d’affaires for the US Embassy in Seychelles, James Donegan while Hon. André was assisted by defence and security committee (DSC) secretary Gillian Samson, and public relations and protocol manager Angelique Hill.
Ambassador Jardine was visiting Seychelles for the US aquaculture workshop held on August 24, where aquaculture-related businesses and developments were discussed and showcased.
As well as looking into the diversification and development of such businesses, the ambassador informed Hon. Andre that efforts to improve the ease of access for Seychellois to travel to the US were in progress, with continued cooperation with the foreign affairs ministry.
Mr Andre thanked Ambassador Jardine for his visit and remarked that the US has remained one of the top jurisdictions in the provision of strategic advice and guidance, as well as training opportunities.
The meeting ended with both parties ultimately reaffirming the levels of cooperation and interaction between the United States and Seychelles.
