Seychelles pulverised by Reunion in first group match

Seychelles’ men’s handball team have lost their first match in group B against Reunion, meaning their chances of qualifying for the semifinal are quite slim as their next opponents are Mayotte, a force to reckon with in the region.

Coached by Tony Hortère, the Seychelles selection lost the first half 4-22, before losing the match at the Boulodrome CNAPS in Vontovorona 13-43.

They will play their next match against Mayotte today.

As for the women’s selection, they lost their first match against hosts Madagascar 19-39 on Saturday.
