Gold for Simon Bachmann in 200m butterfly
- Four more silver medals for Felicity Passon
Simon Bachmann yesterday added another gold medal to his name, this time in the 200m butterfly on day four of the swimming competition of the 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games at the Olympic Swimming Pool of Vontovorona, Antananarivo, Madagascar.
Bachmann clocked 2 minutes 4.91 seconds to clinch his second gold medal at the competition, after winning gold in the 200m individual medley the day before.
Seychelles all-time best swimmer Felicity Passon was also on the medal podium yesterday, collecting four silver medals.
Her first silver medal was in the 50m backstroke where she finished second in 30.10 seconds, while her second was in the 100m freestyle where she clocked 58.78 seconds. Passon’s third silver medal was in the 50m breaststroke where she finished second in a time of 31.96 seconds, while her fourth medal of the day was in the women’s 800m freestyle relay where she swam alongside Sofie Frichot, Aaliyah Palestrini, and Khema Elizabeth.
Liliana Mason was also on the medal podium yesterday, after winning a bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke, finishing third in 3 minutes 4.71 seconds.
It is also worth noting that on Monday, Damien Payet won a bronze medal in the 1,500m freestyle after finishing third in 17 minutes 20.80 seconds.
