Air Seychelles stands proud to have been chosen as the preferred airline to carry the nation’s sports delegations to Antananarivo in Madagascar for the Indian Ocean Islands Games 2023.

This comes after a charter agreement was signed between Sandy Benoiton, chief executive of Air Seychelles and principal secretary for Youth and Sports, Ralph Jean-Louis on behalf of the National Sports Council on July 24, 2023.

Over the course of two days, three chartered flights transported a total of 477 athletes and officials as well as President Wavel Ramkalawan, First Lady Linda Ramkalawan and the Minister for Youth, Sports and Family, Marie-Celine Zialor to the games.

The Indian Ocean Islands Games are a multi-sport tournament for athletes from islands of the Indian Ocean which are held every four years. Seychelles is taking part in 15 out of the 19 disciplines.

Chief executive of Air Seychelles, Sandy Benoiton says “given that Air Seychelles is the national airline, it is an honour for us to be able to extend our support to our Seychelles delegation traveling to the games. We are indeed proud and we pledge to assist as much as we can whenever we can, as we encourage an active lifestyle through sports.”
