Company donates whiteboards to three primary schools |24 August 2023
Exness (SC) Ltd has shown its commitment towards the development of education in Seychelles with the sponsorship of 160 whiteboards to three primary schools, namely Plaisance, Mont Fleuri and Cascade.
This was during a short ceremony on Tuesday at the Plaisance primary school in the presence of education principal secretary, Merna Eulentin, the company’s director, Jacob Wissum, head teachers of the Mont Fleuri, Cascade and Plaisance primary namely Shirley Hoareau, Barbarra Medor and Therese Athanase respectively.
It was the latter who accepted the donation on behalf of the three schools.
During her speech Mrs Athanase expressed her sincere gratitude towards Pedro Pierre from Exness (SC) Ltd for considering their schools to be part of this initiative.
“Exness Ltd has once again shown its support and commitment to the development of education in Seychelles by providing this sponsorship and I believe that the teachers and learners will make good use of the whiteboards,” stated Mrs Athanase.
The Plaisance primary head teacher mentioned that the children represent the future and therefore they need to be given a winning start in life. “Our best wishes and hopes are for all of them. Nothing is more important than educating our young people in a conducive classroom environment,” said Mrs Athanase, adding that the sponsorship was a great contribution and has come at the right time as teachers were already requesting new whiteboards to replace the damaged ones.
According to Mrs Athanase, Exness (SC) Ltd will also be installing the white boards as part of the sponsorship.
Addressing the attendees, Pedro Pierre, the head of operations for Exness (SC) Ltd Seychelles branch, said the gesture was a continuation of their efforts to help the education system in the country.
He stated that educational development is one of the key priority areas of the corporate social responsibility of their company. “We believe that a good educational system is the cornerstone of a country and it creates opportunity for growth and future development as well as increasing the opportunity for Seychelles as a country to compete internationally,” said Mr Pierre.
Mr Pierre added that their contribution at the grass-roots level of education will bring long-lasting and sustainable change in these three local communities.
Last October Exness (SC) Ltd donated 140 boards to Anse Aux Pins and Pointe Larue primary schools.
Mr Pierre said the company aims to step up their initiative next year by launching a scholarship programme, similar to the ones underway at their headquarters in Cyprus, South Africa, Vietnam and Thailand. He has thanked the schools welcoming this opportunity and for helping them in this endeavour.
Tuesday’s ceremony comprised a traditional dance by primary students and performance by the PLSP Brothers choir. Mr Wissum and Mr Pierre received a painting each created by the students with the help of their art teachers.
Exness (SC) Ltd is a forex broker founded in 2008 and based in Seychelles.
