The newly accredited Omani ambassador to Seychelles has described the relations between his country and Seychelles as excellent and plans to further enhance them.

Saud Hilal Al Shidhani made the statement to local press yesterday morning after presenting his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan.

The new ambassador stated that “we do have excellent relations between the two countries and we are looking forward to elevate the relations in the next coming years”.

Mr Al Shidhani said the discussion with the Seychelles’ head of state focused mainly on the “commercial level and economical and these are the areas we are going to be looking at,” citing blue economy and logistic among others.

Mr Al Shihaniwho will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and replaces Ali bin Abdullah bin Salim Al-Mahrooqi.

Yesterday he also called on Vice President Ahmed Afif, Designated Minister Jean-François Ferrari and other ministers.

The Sultanate of Oman and Seychelles established diplomatic relations 40 years ago in April 1983.
