National airline to fly Team Seychelles to Madagascar
As it has been the case before, the noble task of flying our athletes to the 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games will fall on our national airline, Air Seychelles, through three chartered flights.
The agreement for the long-lasting partnership was signed yesterday by principal secretary for youth and sports Ralph Jean-Louis and acting chief executive of Air Seychelles Sandy Benoiton during a small ceremony held at the airline’s headquarters in Pointe Larue.
The three chartered flights will depart on Wednesday August 23 (at 5.30am), and Thursday August 24 (at 5.30am and at 8.30pm), while the return flights are scheduled for September 4 and 6.
On behalf of Seychelles government, through the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family, and the National Sports Council (NSC), PS Jean-Louis thanked Air Seychelles for the continuous collaboration, noting that even if this time negotiations were longer, the end result was good with the three chattered flights.
He urged the different sporting associations and federations to choose Air Seychelles when travelling for training camps abroad as signs of appreciation and loyalty,
On his part, Mr Benoiton said Air Seychelles is proud to once again partner with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family, building on the good working relationship between the two parties which has existed for a long time.
He added that even if it was a bit last minute, they managed to discuss and settle everything to proudly fly Team Seychelles to Madagascar.
