Jean-Yves Souyave finishes on top
In the absence of members of the national selection who are presently at the World Cycling Centre in Western Cape in South Africa, preparing for the upcoming 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games in August, the Seychelles Cycling Union hosted its 26km individual time-trial last Sunday where Jean-Yves Souyave registered the best time to emerge as the winner.
Representing the North Coast Riders (NCR), Souyave completed the course in 37 minutes 21.21 seconds (37:21.21) to finish ahead of Dominic Arrisol of the One Shot Pain Cycling Club (OSPCC) who was second, clocking 38:34.62.
Jayden Sinon of the Vélo Club de l’Ouest (VCDL) finished third overall, registering a time of 38:45.50, ahead of fourth-placed Leeroy Labiche of the Option Max Cycling Club (OMCC) who was fourth in 40:39.98.
Jeff Esparon, also of the OMCC was fifth overall in 40:41.14, pushing Edrick Roucou of the NCR into sixth position after clocking 41:55.73.
Seventh overall was Jude Hoareau of the OMCC who clocked 42:51.09, while with a time of 43:19.14, Ricky Rosalie who rides for the NCR was eighth overall.
Chris Uzice of the VCDL Academy recorded the ninth best time – 43:21.09 – to finish ahead of Lario Harrison of the NCR who was 10th overall in 43:59.19.
Trevor Malvina and Lauren Jacques, both of the VCDL Academy clocked 44:27.92 and 45:25.92 to finish 11th and 12th respectively.
With an accumulated time of 2 hours, 2 minutes, 35 seconds (2h02:35), the NCR finished as the best team, ahead of the OMCC who accumulated 2h04:11 to finish second.
The VCDL Academy accumulated a grand total time of 2h13.13 to finish third overall.
