20-member strong pre-selection at Dubai Summer Sizzler
As part of the preparations for the upcoming 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games scheduled to take place in Madagascar from August 23 to September 3, the national swimming pre-selection comprising 20 swimmers are presently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates where they will take part in this year’s Hamilton Aquatics Summer Sizzler from June 24 to 25, at the Hamdam Bin Mohamed Bin Rashid Sports Complex.
Team Seychelles, made up of Abigail Labuschagne, Isabelle Labuschagne, Aaliyah Palestrini, Angelina Smythe, Dorianne Bristol, Keira Berlouis, Nael Barreau, Lea Ramanantsoa, Louisiana Bacco, Damien Payet, Luca Soleil-Arnephy, Nathan Nagapin, Yves Fock Heng, Iwan Chang Lai Seng, Aiden Labrosse, Dwight Bamboche, Amos Ferley, Lihandro Pierre, Kian Rosalie and Daqurenne Servina, are under the guidance of head coach Barnsley Albert who is being assisted by Robert Suzette and Shane Mangroo.
Hilda Khan is also part of the delegation in the role of chaperone.
Palestrini (based in Italy), Smythe (based in Australia), and Soleil-Arnephy (based in the UK) joined the team upon arrival at the Dubai airport.
Meanwhile, the Adventure Sports Club will also be represented at the Sizzler by swimmers Khema Elizabeth and Alain Vidot who will be accompanied by coach Jude Vidot.
